Ingredients needed for this cranberry brie bread bowl:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. -It is not necessary to remove the rind on the brie as it is edible. If you prefer the melted brie to hold its shape leave the rind on. -Any crusty plain bread will work wonderfully, you don't want any flavors that will clash with the brie and cranberry sauce. If you want something different and delicious Costco's Cranberry walnut bread loaf would be the perfect upgrade if that's available in your location. 2. Using a serrated knife cut the top off of your round bread loaf. Then place your brie wheel on top and go around with a knife to measure how much bread needs to be pinched out. After outlining pinch out extra bread to create a bread bowl making sure to leave enough bread on the bottom so your bread bowl won't leak.
3. Once your bread bowl is prepared make about 1-inch cuts on the crust of the bread cutting halfway down. This will make it easier to pull apart.
4. Place your bread bowl onto a prepared baking sheet, drizzle sides and inside with olive oil, and season lightly with salt and pepper to taste. Prepare your brie you can cut the rind off or leave it on and place it into the bread bowl.
5. Top brie in the bread bowl with 1 cup cranberry sauce, and thyme (opt.). Cover with the bread top that you cut off and place into a preheated oven at 350°F for about 25 minutes.
Best served right away warm.
