Have you tried the viral Grinder sandwich? This Grinder salad recipe is the salad that goes with the sandwich but I enjoyed it so much I started making it as a side!

One random evening me and my husband were thinking about what to make for dinner and we were out of most of our groceries and had no inspiration to cook. I remembered about the Popular grinder sandwich and after a few videos, we decided it looked simple enough to require little effort from us. We were right! It was so simple to put together and quick. Ever since this recipe went Viral on TikTok we have been making Grinder salad as well as the sandwich with the salad in it.

Ingredients
- Iceberg lettuce
- Purple onion
- Relish: The juice from the relish makes for great flavor once mixed into the salad.
- Banana peppers
- Italian vinaigrette
- Avocado oil Mayo

Substitutions and Variations
- Italian vinaigrette - Make your own grinder salad dressing from scratch by mixing the following ingredients: 2 tbsp red wine vinegar, 1 tsp banana pepper juice, 2 teaspoon Italian seasonings, Ā½ tsp salt, Pepper, to taste
- Relish- Dice pickles into small pieces and use them instead of relish in the salad.
If eating the grinder salad as a salad on its own and not part of the Grinder sandwich. Then add Salami and Parmesan cheese to make it more filling.
Instructions
Step 1: Chop ingredients: Chop the head of iceberg lettuce, a purple onion, Ā½ cup banana peppers, and add in 3 tablespoon of relish.
Step 2: Mix the grinder salad with dressing: Mix 3 tablespoon of mayonnaise and 2 tablespoon of vinaigrette. Serve as a side or in a grinder sandwich.
Storage Suggestion
The grinder salad is best enjoyed fresh! If you would like to make the salad ahead of time. Prepare the salad dressing and store it in a separate container. Cut the salad ingredients and place in a bowl with the "wet" ingredients on the bottom and top with chopped lettuce. You can prepare it a day ahead at most.

- 1 salad bowl
- 1 salad tongs
- 1 knife
- 1 Cutting Board
Ingredients
- 1 medium Iceberg lettuce
- 1 medium purple onion
- 3 tablespoon relish
- Ā½ cup banana pepper
- 2 tablespoon Italian vinaigrette
- 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
Instructions
