Ingredients
- Turkey: Deli turkey meat is thinly sliced, cooked turkey breast that is commonly found at grocery store deli counters. It is a convenient option for sandwiches, providing a lean source of protein with a mild, savory flavor.
- Bacon: Bacon adds a rich, smoky flavor and crispy texture to the sandwich, complementing the other ingredients with its savory goodness.
- Avocado: Avocado is a creamy, nutrient-rich fruit known for its buttery texture and mild, nutty flavor. It serves as a luxurious filling for the sandwich, adding a smooth contrast to the other ingredients while providing healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals.
- Lettuce: Lettuce, such as iceberg or romaine, adds a refreshing crunch and a burst of freshness to the sandwich. It also serves as a bed for the other ingredients, helping to hold them in place and providing a crisp contrast to the soft fillings.
- Yellow Onion: Thinly sliced, can add a mild sweetness and a bit of zing to the sandwich. It provides a subtle flavor contrast and aromatic depth, enhancing the overall taste experience.
- Monterey Jack Cheese: Monterey Jack cheese is a semi-hard cheese with a mild, buttery flavor and smooth texture. It melts beautifully, adding a creamy richness to the sandwich and complementing the other ingredients with its subtle tanginess.
- Spicy Mayo: Spicy mayo is a condiment made by mixing mayonnaise with spicy sriracha. It adds a kick of heat and creamy richness to the sandwich, elevating the flavor profile and providing a delicious contrast to the other ingredients.
- Bread: Choose one of our favorite types of bread, such as Classic White Sandwich bread, whole wheat, Rustic sourdough Bread, or my 30-minute bread made as baguettes. Toast the bread lightly to enhance its flavor and prevent it from becoming soggy when assembled with the other ingredients.

How to assemble Turkey Avocado Sandwich
Step 1: Prepare Bread and Mayo for the Turkey and bacon sandwich: Bake the bread of choice fresh bread makes this sandwich gourmet. Also, prepare the spicy mayo with a few simple ingredients that you likely already have in your fridge.
Step 2: Bake bacon: Preheat your oven to 375F and place a cooling rack into a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lay out bacon onto the cooling rack and bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until crisp. Remove from the oven and let the bacon cool while you prep the remaining ingredients. This is my favorite mess-free way to prepare bacon, but you can also just fry the bacon on a frying pan.
Step 3: Mash avocado: Don't you hate it when you pay for avocado at a restaurant and it just slides out of the sandwich?! So frustrating right? That's why I like to mash up 1 avocado season with salt and pepper to taste and spread it on one side of the bread. It works like a dressing and stays put in the sandwich.
Step 4: Prepare remaining ingredients: Slice half of a medium yellow onion and cut slices of Monterey jack cheese you will need 4 slices of cheese, 2 slices per sandwich. Feel free to load up on cheese to your liking, my cheese was a small block so I used much more. Wash and dry lettuce I like using Iceberg or Romaine to get that nice crunch. You will need about 1 lettuce leaf per sandwich.
Step 5: Assemble the sandwich: Toast Bread slices or baguette. Then add the mashed avocado on one side and Spicy mayo on the other side. Inside the bread slices add all the prepared ingredients 4 thin slices of Turkey meat, 2-3 slices of crispy bacon, some onion slices, cheese slices, and romaine lettuce. This makes one sandwich feel free to add more or less of the ingredients and repeat to make additional sandwiches.
Enjoy with a pickle, potato chips, or a garden salad!

Use a sharp knife to cut the sandwich diagonally, creating visually appealing triangular halves. This not only makes the sandwich easier to eat but also showcases the colorful layers of ingredients, making it even more enticing to enjoy.
What is the best cheese for turkey sandwich?
A great cheese to use in a turkey avocado sandwich would be Monterey Jack, Gouda, or Provolone making it a perfect pair. Second, it's all about the thickness of the cheese slice.
