Substitutions and Variations
- Avocado oil Mayonnaise- Feel free to use store-bought Mayonnaise.
- Bread- You can use a French baguette or regular sandwich bread.
- Garlic- Garlic powder can be substituted for fresh garlic. 1 clove of garlic is equal to β th teaspoon of garlic powder.
Egg salad meal prep option: Make a batch of this egg salad spread and place in the refrigerator to enjoy through out the week.
The sandwiches can be either open-faced on my 30-minute bread recipe, as crostini's, or use Classic white bread to make a sandwich.
How to prepare egg sandwich spread
Step 1: Grate Egg and Cheese: Start off by Grating the eggs and cheese using a big hole grater grate 4 hard-boiled eggs and Β½ cup (4 oz) of mozzarella cheese.
Step 2: Next add the remaining ingredients: Β½ cup mayonnaise, Mince 4 garlic cloves, and season with ΒΌ teaspoon of paprika, Β½ teaspoon salt, and ΒΌ teaspoon ground black pepper.
Step 3: Mix the Egg salad: Using a spatula mix together all the ingredients until everything is incorporated.
Step 4: Assemble the sandwich: Slice bread and top with the mixed egg salad. Garnish with toppings such as radish slices, chopped green onions, avocado, or bacon bites.

How long does egg salad last in fridge
Seal in an airtight container and store the mixed egg salad in the refrigerator for 5 days.
Can you freeze Egg Salad?
It is safe to freeze classic egg salad for up to two months without risking spoilage. For best flavor and texture, consume it before the two months. You can run under cold water to thaw.
Top tip
Grating the eggs helps to distribute the egg evenly throughout the sandwich as well as finely chopped eggs to create a smoother and creamier texture.
