  • Jello- Feel free to substitute with any jello color or flavor to match your event or for a unique twist.

Step-by-step Instructions:

Step 1: How to make jello- Make jello according to package instructions but only using ¾ cup cold water and ¾ cup hot water. Let set in the fridge either overnight or until firm.

Step 2: Prepare fruit- Slice 1lb of strawberries in half and then lay them on flat side and make slices lengthwise. Next grate ½ cup mozzarella cheese, it is better to grate on the smaller holes on a box grater then the cheese will be hidden. Then, drain canned peaches and mandarines and cut them down into smaller pieces about ¼ of an inch.

Step 3: Cut Jello and add Cool whip- Once the jello is set firm cut into cubes about ½ inch pieces. Then using a rubber spatula remove from the dish and add into a large bowl with the other fruit. Then, mix all ingredients together with the defrosted Cool Whip making sure the Cool Whip has coated all the ingredients evenly. Serve right away.

Expert tips:

Defrost the Cool Whip- The easiest way is to place it into the fridge from the freezer when you make the jello so that by the time the jello sets the Cool Whip will have defrosted.

For a stunning presentation, consider using a clear glass bowl or individual serving cups to showcase the vibrant layers of Jello and the colorful fruits. It's as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the palate.

How long does fruit salad last?
