This Belgian waffle recipe is a family favorite in our home! The waffles have a crisp exterior with a fluffy and light inside. Separating the egg whites, and beating until foamy and peaks form is the key to achieving the perfect waffle. This is a step you definitely can't skip. Enjoy for breakfast or make a batch and store in the freezer in a freezer bag and reheat in the toaster every morning for a quick on-the-go breakfast or snack.
What You Need to make Belgian waffles:
Eggs
Flour
Milk
Butter
Sugar
Baking Powder
Salt
Vanilla
Instructions:
Turn on your waffle maker and let preheat.
Prepare 2 mixing bowls, Separate egg whites from the yolk. Placing egg whites in 1 bowl and egg yolks in other.
Take bowl with egg yolk beat with hand mixer and add milk, melted butter, vanilla. Then add dry ingredients flour, sugar, baking powder, salt. Beat until smooth.
Clean hand mixer beaters and dry well. Take egg whites and beat on high until foamy and peaks hold their shape.
With a spatula incorporate egg whites into the batter until smooth.
Using an Ice cream scoop or large spoon, spoon batter into the waffle iron and cook until a crispy light brown color.
Enjoy with maple syrup and fresh berries!
** if freezing, cool waffles to room temperature and place into a freezer bag and store in the freezer for 3-4 months**
