Crunchy cabbage with ramen bits and toasted almond slices this Asian salad is so simple to make yet packed with flavor. The homemade dressing makes all the difference in this salad! A great make ahead option the cabbage doesn't spoil quickly and the dressing can be mixed and dressed right before dinner for guests, events, or holidays.
Ingredients:
Salad
Cabbage
Chicken Instant Ramen
Green Onions
Almond slivers or slices
Dressing:
Β½ cup olive oil
β
teaspoon ground pepper
3 tablespoon sugar
2 Β½ tablespoon rice vinegar
1 packet of instant chicken flavoring
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Asian homemade salad dressing:
Combine together Β½ cup olive oil, β teaspoon ground pepper, 3 tablespoon of sugar, 2 Β½tbsp of rice vinegar, packet of ramen flavoring, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil then shake vigorously until combined. This dressing can be made up to 2 weeks ahead of time.
Instructions for Crunchy Asian Salad:
Break or chop up instant ramen into small bit pieces. Place almond slices into a saute pan and lightly toast but DON'T burn! Set aside.
With a mandolin, food processor or by hand shred cabbage. Place into a large bowl. Chop up green onions and add to cabbage. Drizzle dressing over salad and mix well.
Add in the crunchy ramen and almonds (if preparing ahead add crunchies before serving)
Top with extra crunchies for an appealing look and Enjoy!
CRUNCHY ASIAN CABBAGE SALAD
Ingredients
- 1 medium cabbage head
- 3 oz instant ramen
- 1 bunch green onions
- ΒΌ cup almond slivers or slices
- Β½ cup olive oil
- β teaspoon ground pepper
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2 Β½ tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 packet chicken ramen flavoring from instant ramen package
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions
- Make salad dressing (you can make this up to 2 weeks ahead). Combine together oil, pepper, sugar, rice vinegar, ramen flavoring, sesame oil and shake vigorously.
