If you're searching for a delightful treat to embrace the flavors of fall, look no further. Our homemade apple tea cake is the epitome of autumn coziness, and it's perfect for sharing with loved ones or savoring solo with a warm cup of tea.
1: Preheat Your Oven your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8 inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
2: Core and slice apples: Use a corer to neatly core out the inside of the 3 apples. Then cut the apple in half and with a mandolin cut apple slices on the thicker side.
3: Season Apple slices: Season apple slices with cinnamon sugar spice mix. If you aren't going to use right away make sure to add a splash of lemon juice to make sure the apples don't turn brown.
4: Make the cake batter: In a bowl of an electric mixer add 1 egg and 3 egg yolks along with ½ cup sugar start mixing then add in ¾ cup melted butter. Lastly, add 1 cup of flour. Add the cake batter into the prepared 8inch cake pan.
5: Assemble Rose cake: Starting along the outside edge arrange the apple slices lightly pressing into the batter. Place apple slices over each other starting at the core cut out. You may need to break the slices as you reach the center of the rose. Use the remaining apple slices to fill in the gaps. Sprinkle with extra cinnamon sugar mix.
6: Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in the center.
7: Cool and Dust: Allow the apple tea cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. To add a finishing touch dust the top with powdered sugar.
