Roll out both thawed puff pastry sheets with a rolling pin on a well floured surface.
Spread nutella evenly onto the rolled out puff pastry and top with second layer making sure the edges match. If nutella is too stiff slightly heat it and it will spread easier.
Cut out a triangle shape and making sure to cut through both layers.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay triangle (Christmas tree) on top.
Place extra pieces to the side and cut slits on triangle to make a Christmas tree. Making sure not to make the strips too thin, about 1 inch is perfect. The thicker the pieces are the better the twists will work out. Cut even pieces on both sides of the triangle making sure to leave an inch uncut middle.
Twist each sliced branch twice and lay end flat onto baking sheet.
Use a star cookie cutter to create star for the top of the tree out of the extra scrap pieces and place on top of tree.
Beat egg to create an egg wash and brush onto Christmas tree with a pastry brush. Top with coarse sugar for a glistening sparkle effect.
Bake in Preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
Decorate with crushed candy canes, Christmas mini m&ms, or powder sugar. Enjoy with a glass of milk.
